Canton Mountain Wind
Location: Canton, Maine
The Canton Wind Project is an 8-turbine facility located on Canton Mountain in Canton, Maine. The project now connects to the existing Central Maine Power 115 kV system via 3.4 miles of overhead and 1.8 miles of underground 34.5 kV collector system that interconnects at the Ludden Lane substation, which was expanded for this project.
Scope of Services:
- Developed conceptual design of the collector system and substation expansion for permit applications.
- Provided detailed design of 3.4 miles of overhead 34.5 kV collector circuit, including approximately 1 mile of double circuit construction with the previously built Saddleback Ridge Wind collector system.
- Designed 1.8 miles of underground 34.5 kV ridgeline collector system.
- Developed detailed design of the expansion of Ludden Lane substation, including interconnection with the Central Maine Power switchyard and related protection and control changes and additions.
