RLC SERVICES

        Energy Storage
Our energy storage interconnection experience in the Northeast has been steadily
growing. The market for stand-alone AC-coupled systems and DC-coupled array
enhancements has grown significantly in the last year and is expected to accelerate.
We have performed conceptual design studies for projects ranging between 1 and
10 MWhr in size. RLC has also completed detailed design and construction support
activities for several BESS systems. Furthermore, RLC can provide our clients with a
turnkey solution for their energy storage needs from interconnection applications to
testing and commissioning of the projects on a single site or program-wide scale.
Software Applications: RLC Engineering personnel are competent and
knowledgeable users of CYME, Helioscope, PSCAD, PSSe, PVSyst, and SKM.

        Experience

        Jones Street
RLC served as Owner’s Engineer, and developed the conceptual design of
interconnections for New England Battery Storage for their Madison Jones
Street project. The Madison ESS is New England’s first fully integrated front-of-
        the-meter energy storage facility. It is a 4.99 MW/ 10 MWh lithium-ion system
that participates in the ISO-NE wholesale energy markets, operating reserve
markets, frequency regulation market, and capacity market. Our Engineers
also provided site layout and equipment arrangement, cable and transformer
sizing, and identifying interconnection options, and construction support.

        Martha’s Vineyard
RLC performed design and engineering services for the Martha’s Vineyard
(MV) ESS project that consists of a 4.9 MW/26.1 MWh Energy Storage
System at the Oaks Bluff Service Center in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.
Engineering services consisted of ground grid design, cable and conduit
sizing, interconnection relay settings, switchgear specifications and
alignment, as well as controls and communication wiring. The MV ESS is
expected to operate in parallel with the existing utilities 22.8  kV electrical
distribution system but will not operate as an islanded resource. The MV
BESS output will be automatically controlled to support system events
and to limit the loading on the existing submarine cable load levels. The
facility employs Lithium Ion batteries with a SMA inverter system.

        Madison Business Park
RLC served as Owner’s Engineer, and developed the conceptual
design of interconnections for New England Battery Storage for their
Madison BTM project. Services also provided were site layout and
equipment arrangement, cable and transformer sizing, and identifying
interconnection options. RLC also provided support during the
        construction process of the project.
